InterHerd Essential

InterHerd Essential emphasises the role of the veterinarian as an adviser to the farmer. The veterinarian takes the data collected via InterHerd Essential and uses the InterHerd program to undertake detailed analysis of herd and animal performance.

The combination of the farmer using InterHerd Essential with the verterinarian operating InterHerd emphasises the seperate roles of the manager and veterinarian. Each can concentrate on what they do best.

What is included with InterHerd Essential?

InterHerd Essential features the following:

  • Complete individual animal records
  • Full data entry facilities
  • Standard action lists, including the vet list
  • Milk yield management reporting
  • Electronic movements and passport applications
  • Medicine book and movement book
  • Links to NMR - SABRE output file and datastream input
  • Flexible animal reporting

What are the advantages of InterHerd Essential

InterHerd Essential lets the farmer take responsibility for their data which is kept on-farm, where it is readily available for day to day herd management. This usually results in significant improvement in data quality which benefits both farmer and veterinarian.

The farmer can send a copy of the data file to the veterinarian by post or e-mail. Thus the detailed analysis of herd health, production and fertility is the responsibility of the veterinarian who can arrive for a visit fully informed of the current situation on the farm and knowing which animals to see and for what reason. This results in better use of the veterinarian's time on farm.

Milk recording and InterHerd Essential

Milk recording data provided by National Milk Records will give the farmer a great start with InterHerd Essential.

The veterinarian needs the information provided by NMR to give the best advice and analysis of herd, groups or animal performance. This data can also be passed to the veterinarian free of charge over the internet.
